| | | Fischer’s was founded in 1971 by Bette Fischer. Bette had attended a wedding as she had many times, but this time found herself drawn to the beautiful four-tier wedding cake and decided, “I can do that”, and she did.
It is believed she attended classes at J.C.Penney’s. She then began teaching others in the basement of her home. She soon realized it wasn’t practical for her students to mail order their supplies and wanted a better area for teaching. She decided with $2,000, a vision, hard work & dedication she would launch Fischer’s School of Cake Decorating & Supplies. She wanted to teach & inspire others to achieve in the art of cake decorating and sugar art, and she did.
Bette’s daughter Kris, along with her husband Jim, purchased the business from Bette in 2002. With support from a dedicated staff, they are committed to continuing in her footsteps, passing on her values, passions and service to all of our customers as well as future generations of sugar artists.
